BioLite SunLight Solar Powered Lantern

This light never performed well. on a full charge i would get approx 15 mins on max light, then it would drop to energy saving mode for up to an hour and then turn off. When plugging in a usb charger it would blink green indicating above 90% battery life left. if left in the sun it would blink amber for a few minute indicating normal/ok power left then go to a green blink to suggest over 90% again. .. but when using the light it would run about 30 seconds on full then drop to low for a minute and turn off again. Katie at BIOLITE customer services told me to leave it plugged in for a day or leave it in direct sunlight for a minimum of 12 hours to fill the battery as it sounded like it needed a bit of a "boost". ok.. so 5 days later having been left in the winter sun which had the green light blinking for 5 days, then putting on USB charge for 24 hours.... tested it. we got 45 mins on full power followed by 1 hour energy saving mode. thats absolutely of zero use to me so after another 24 hour usb charge it went in its box. 10 months later we got a power cut and it was pulled out of its box for some emergengy lighting. it blinked green when turned on/off to test battery... great.. 90% left still. 4 minutes. thats it... but turning it on/off showed green 90% battery still. no good. contacted biolite and guess what.. Katie is still there! or someone called katie is anyway. anyway her suggestion was to do the exact same procedure. word for word. we did it and then the robot mode turned off and a human started talking. its a few days out of the 1 year warranty so no return or repair possible. nice. ive been offered 20% off a new one on their website, but i can get it 40% off on ebay and would NEVER buy one again anyway. sorry. bad experience.

Delivery was very quick,product itself is well made and really easy to use cheap to run as sunlight charges it ,a good light excellent for camping or emergencies around house as all you have to do is leave it in the window. Although it does have to be charged every six months connected to mains.

I have several BioLite products and i cannot fault them , so useful and well built , this small light is dimmable and has multi colored lights for night reading or just color variation , charges quick and easy in low light , very useful around the house and car and camping :-)

It feels cheap for the price doesn’t come with a charging lead there is no indicator light to show it’s charging and to get it to stay on you’ve got to hold the on button for 10 secs then hold it again for another 10 secs

Really bright light, bright enough to light an entire room, comes in demo mode hold power button for 10 seconds to turn off demo mode. Really good reading light and easy to use. Would definitely by again

Product sent was the incorrect colour, but delivery was very quick and the product seems very well made from nice robust materials. White light is very useable. Not really sure when I will use party mode though!

I leave this on my window ledge so it’s always ready to go. Charges really well even in the UK (although it is summer, so winter may be another story).

This is incredibly bright and i used it all weekend and it's still fully charged. I'm very impressed. I'm not sure why it has the 3rd mode but it was funny changing the settings.
