Good value
This was easy to install in the vehicle. Easy to read for an older driver and very reasonably priced.

Delivered in a resealed box. Dissambeled. Junk.
At $18 this is probably the most expensive compass on the market, but I bought it at that price because there was a reasonable chance it was a good product and the items for $2 would be junk. I was wrong. The box was resealed. The unit was in three pieces and there were no instructions. Frankly, it should not be necessary to assemble at all but I will assume shipping it in three pieces is normal. There is no way it will stay together. Returning it is a hassle because it is an 80 mile to the nearest UPS store. This very discouraging. I hate writing this because I have had great success with Amazon over the years. I hope I get a response from the vendor.

If you need a compass for your car this is a good one.
Works great if you don't have a compass in your car. I installed mine on the dashboard.

The reviews were right - don't bother
I read the reviews but decided to give it try anyway. My mistake. This compass just doesn't work. It sticks as it turns and is not consistent in directional orientation. It absolutely froze up on my dashboard. Wouldn't move a bit. Not sure what is happening there. I put a high quality handheld compass in the same spot. It did not have a problem with accuracy or interference at all.Looks like another case of you get what you pay for. Why even bother making it in the first place? Save time and hassle. Look elsewhere.

You get what you pay for...
This little thing is a neat concept if it were accurate. The ball tends to drag inside the globe keeping it from spinning freely so you get off readings periodically. The old truck I'm putting it in has a lot of vibrations so hopefully that will keep it loose and at least somewhat accurate.. It's cheap novelty buy, what should I expect when some of these Marine compasses are like $70.. If your life depends on an accurate compass spend more the $10..

Good Compass for the Price
This is exactly what I was looking for. I just wanted something to basically let me know in what direction I was driving if I needed to know. So far seems do that and is sticking well. Arrived on time and looked the same as pictured.

Great product. Follow the reading instructions
Works great.I sawed off the base for ease of mounting on my dash - I didn’t see how I could mount it otherwise.Important to know that the direction reading facing you is the reading of where you are heading and not where you are coming from. Not sure if this makes sense but I think I saw something like that on the product instructions. If u don’t get this right u will probably think the device is faulty. It’s great and I love that my kids now can understand compass directions. It takes the theory out of all the learning
