Peril at Granite Peak (5) (Hardy Boys Adventures) Paperback – February 4, 2014

I recommend this book to everyone.I liked how they solved the mystery & there was more than 1 bad guy.I disliked how the mystery did not come together until the end.

The Hardy Boy books are a great source for a good, no, GREAT, mystery. "Franklin D. is one of my favorite authors and here books always have me hooked" says my 11 year old son, Aiden. I recommend these books to anyone!

The boys are on vacation at a small, struggling family-run ski resort with their friend, Chet Morton. After a couple of mishaps they decide to leave ahead of a storm that will strand everyone there. The boys would have made it out had they driven themselves rather than riding up in Chet's jalopy (that's an old car that may or may not start at any given time, for you young ones), but then we wouldn't have a mystery.Snowed in while other acts of sabotage occur, some dangerous, the boys start investigating. Rather than spoil anything I'll just run down the elements in this story: a saboteur with unknown motives; a list of suspects isolated by the storm; two dogs with two entirely different talents; a fall down artist; someone undercover; a false confession (or two); and secret boyfriend-girlfriend; a red herring (or two).The clues are pretty fair and if you pay attention to a few of them and watch where everyone is (and is not) you can figure out the mystery.The chapters are laid out well, the first person narration is easily identifiable as one of the two brothers (they alternate chapters), and each chapter end makes you want to at least read into the next page.Very good addition to this series.

Love that they are making current versions of the hardy boys. My son loves them and he hates to read!

This is one of the few series that my eight year old HAS to buy as soon as a new book comes out. His ten year old sister also enjoys them!

It was very believable nothing unreal or fantastic just good reading , and very entertaining.totally different feel from the original stories, or the case files

Another poorly written and plotted book with weak characterization. For a series advertised as "Adventures" it was a very boring book. One act of sabotage leads to another, which ultimate does not advance the plot or the investigation and becomes a page filler. The book is set in a lodge on Granite Peak, but all the "action" takes place in the lodge. I hope future books are fleshed out a little more and show more suspense and atmosphere.
