Bought these many times for the filters on my 29 gallon aquarium. They fit the other brands of filters and do the same job! Depending on how messy my fish were (or how much I may have overfed), I would rinse these filters with each water change (usually every 2 weeks) and then replace with a new one monthly. If you have more than one filter, I would replace on an alternating schedule because there is beneficial bacteria in the filter.

I've used these filters for over 20 years. Love those bio-wheels! However, when I received this package in a flimsy plastic envelope, the box inside was smashed on all sides! Checked all filters to see if they were broken.Amazon, whomever packages purchased items for shipping needs to be terminated! Seems everything I get from you for past 2 years has come in a destroyed package, or is unsealed, or placed in to big a box without any popcorn or bubble wrap to take up the extra space and provide protection for the item within. I have complained about this several times, but your lack of changing this mishandling says a lot about your lack of quality control! The Executive Manager of the Shipping Department deserves a paycut!
