Contigo Purity Glass Water Bottle, 20 oz, Smoke with Silicone Tether

I carried a plastic water bottle for years and now wish I'd switched to a glass container sooner. After two weeks, my life feels upgraded by this water bottle.Pros:1) Cleaner tasting water2) Silicone sleeve provides good grip and protection - survived a 1 meter (3ft) fall onto asphalt driveway without a scratch*3) It fits in my cup holders4) No leaks! So I had to give up the convenience of having a bottle with a "bite valve" in exchange for a screw-on cap, but I find this is not the inconvenience I thought it would be. The seal of the cap is flawless.Cons:1) No tether to hang the bottle from a hook or carabiner. The silicone band is plenty sturdy for the purpose of keeping the cap from getting separated from the bottle, but it doesn't seem designed for carrying the full weight of the bottle. You can see what happened to other reviewers who've tried. This isn't a big deal for me since the bottle is cup-holder friendly.2) The tall dimensions make the bottle seem easy to tip over. This has also not been an issue so far, but something I would like to have understood before purchase. The slim diameter makes the bottle fit nicely in the hand, it should be the perfect size for most people.*The fall was unintentional and totally my fault. The bottle is easy to grip, but I fumbled it while placing onto the seat of a pickup truck (it was freezing out and I was in a hurry). It bounced off the running board on the way down and landed first on the cap before settling to rest on the driveway. I'm impressed by the protection provided by the silicone sleeve and the durability of the cap, but I won't be repeating this unplanned experiment.... I hope.

I love this so much already. Just received it today so I'll update if my opinion changes based on how long it lasts but the glass is very good quality and the silicone sleeve feels nice, grips well, and makes it non-slip sitting on my desk. I've also already gotten a compliment that it's cute, so thats a plus!Based on other reviews i read prior to purchasing i dont plan on typically carrying it by the strap, and the metal top will clang against the glass if it falls on it, but it's fixed to the side so as long as it falls straight, it will land against the silicone.Definitely excited to move away from using the disposable cups and refilling old dasani bottles!Update: 6/30/20It finally broke, after many drops. The silicone has always protected it but this one landed just exactly on the exposed side. I don’t remember when I wrote the original review but I have used this frequently since I bought this. Just placed an order for a two to replace! Trying the petal design as well since the silicone covers more.I have owned two other glass bottles (different brand), in silicone as well, that broke on the first drop. This Contigo held up awesomely even through the break, and unlike the others, didn’t shatter the same way. There were a few small shards that came loose but overall it stayed all together. So even in its ending, this is my favorite!

It's hard to find a good quality glass water bottle with a protective sleeve that holds more then 20 oz's. Seeing all the good reviews for this one, and the great price, and brand recognition of Contigo, made this an easy choice. Plus there's really no other contenders when it comes to the quality and price. It's glass, and it's easy to clean! Never buy a water bottle with a lot of plastic parts and a straw that needs cleaned, if you are going to use it regularly. They get mold, and are impossible to fully clean. You may not even know there's mold in some of those multi part bottles. THIS water bottle is simple, perfect, and easy to clean. And you don't have to worry about chemicals leeching from it since it's not plastic. It's easy to carry, and the protective silicone sleeve ads a little protection, but be careful and take care of it. It's great quality and should last forever

Great purchase. The shape is ergonomic. Because it is glass it is heavier than 20oz of water alone so it may not be practical for taking to the gym, but if you are careful you can. I also absolutely love the lid attached to the bottle. I would not use it as a handle and do not know if it is intended to do so, but I will never lose the cap.The water tastes so much better than any water out of a plastic bottle. Because of this well, I drink more water which was it's intended purpose anyway. At work I would use plastic cups filled usually halfway, and being open for a short amount of time I would consider them dirty and throw them away.The one negative (if you can call it that) is the lid is sometimes a little hard to thread on. The aluminum threads of the lid screw directly onto the glass threads of the bottle. I purchased a 32oz bottle of a very similar product for my mother, and the threads on the lid are plastic and slide much better. Also the lid on this other one is a very large, heavy material and the weight makes it easier to thread vs the light aluminum. This other brand is called Xtremeglass. They are equal in quality, but I would probably prefer the Contigo only because of the cap loop- I can't lose it.

Amo que no guarde olores y mantenga mi agua natural fría. Siempre lo traigo en mi camioneta y nunca se derrama nada. Lo malo: es complicado de lavar por que la boquilla es pequeña.

La botella Purity de Contigo es un producto del que uno no se arrepiente por haber realizado la compra. La compre para poder transportarla a todos lados, ya que me disgusta mucho usar botellas de plástico por la contaminación y los contenedores de agua convencionales de plático se apestan muy rápido. Por lo que me vi en la necesidad de buscar una botella que se adaptara a mis necesidades, y esta fué la mejor compra que he hecho, la tapa es de acero inoxidable, y se encuentra unida a la botella por una pequeña correa tambien de silicón, lo ue evita que se te caiga o pierda. El vidirio de la botella se ve de muy buena calidad, si dice que uno no debe de congelarla, para evitar que se rompa dentro del refrigerador, pero nada evita que yo le ponga hielos dentro de la botella. El silicon que envuelve a la botella es suficientemente grueso ayudando a protegerla en caso de algun golpe accidental. Realmente no te arrepentiras si adquieres una botella de estas si buscas, tener un contenedor para agua para uso diario.La botella está diseñada para transportar agua, no sirve para poner agua fria y esperar que se mantenga todo el día fría, si buscas eso mejor busca otro modelo de botella.

La botella es muy elegante y está preciosa, tanto que me la robaron, pero cuando la tenía me costaba trabajo lavarla, la boca estaba muy pequeña y la parte de abajo o la base también, muy pequeña, se desestabiliza muy fácil y me daba miedo que se cayera, de ahí en más todo perfecto, compraré otra para tenerla solo en mi escritorio

Excelente producto. La he usado durante un par de meses y es muy buena botella. Es completamente hermética, no tiene fugas. El vidrio es grueso pero no sé si aguantaría una caída, hay que tener cuidado. La funda de silicona le queda perfectamente bien a la botella, de tal forma que no quedan holguras entre la funda y el vidrio en la parte superior e inferior, lo cual es bueno porque de lo contrario comenzaría a guardar olores dado que no se secaría bien en esas holguras (me ha pasado con otros productos). Como consejo, no recomiendo cargar la botella de la correa de silicona porque muy probablemente se rompería dado que la botella sí es pesada.
