Simple and Effective
These depth stops work great. The coiled springs cushion the stop, preventing any marring on the surface. They fit snugly on the drill bits and stay in place during use. A handy addition to my toolbox.

Pretty cool little drill bit stops, I really like the design.
I hadn't seen these before until watching a YouTube video from a guy that makes old-school signs and sheet metal projects.The simple spring mechanism is frightfully effective and helps to protect any surface below that which you're drilling. Pretty cool!I also like the fact that sometimes when drilling, it's easy to perhaps push too hard when penetrating, the drill drops too far, marring the surface of your material with it's spinning chuck. These little 'stops' prevent that.

Steel tips mar soft aluminum
They say they are no mar, but this is not the case when drilling soft aluminum. Would have preferred something with a UHMW or other type of plastic tip. Otherwise they seem to work well for most material.

I made it even better
25 years ago I was working g at Boeing and I modified the drill stop to have a tapered nose which caused the sheet metal burrs to be expelled away from the hole being drilled and not get caught between the nose and the surface causing scratches in the material. I was paid $10,000.00 for my idea and was implemented in all the major aircraft companies nationwide, possibly worldwide, saving hundreds of millions of dollars of scrapped skins.
