Have a Question? See What Others Asked

Does this work on tires with a wire bead?
Does this work with tires or just tyres? :-D
Is one sufficient for tire dismounting, or are two required? At $16 for 1, when a set of tire irons cost $5, this would be very expensive.
Will this work on hookless rims?

Best yet for gravel and road tires

I have a selection of wheels and tires, so I tried this with a couple notoriously hard ones: Continental Gatorskin and a wire-bead, studded Schwalbe Marathon. The Tyre Glider succeeded on both, and no other levers that use the sliding clip method ever have. I tried other tires with similar success. Even my wife and kid, who aren't adept at putting on tires nor are strong, did it. There is no way they could dismount or mount a tire using levers. Some people say it doesn't work well on mountain bikes. I don't own one, so I can't say, but I'll bet I could pop a tire on with this tool. Other people said it broke, but I should add that the owner of the company added a little more plastic recently to strengthen it. I pushed pretty hard, and I can't see it flexing or breaking.I've tried a lot of levers, and Pedro's always won until now. Tyre Glider is now number one. It's not perfect, and it doesn't give much room to push. I advise going to YouTube and watching the owner of the company show how to use the tool properly. Pushing down using your weight really works. If you see the orange model, it's the same thing. Rehook markets this one, but it's made in the same shop.

This Tool Really Works!

This tool really works! I have a road bike with carbon tubeless rims that I run tubes in. I have had the owner of a bike shop tell me my rims are the most difficult he has ever encountered to change tires/tubes. I recently had to change a tube on my rear wheel. I have new Continental Grand Prix four season tires. These tires have a third anti-puncture belt that goes sidewall-to-sidewall. I used my tire levers to take the tire off as I think the tyre glider removal portion is too wide for my very tight fit (no big deal). I do everything possible not to use tire levers to put the tire back on, since it is easy to pinch the tube with my tight fitting rims/tires. I inserted as much of the tire into the rim as possible by hand. There was no way I would be able finish inserting the tire into the rim by hand. I had at least six inches of the circumference of the tire sticking out of the rim. I figured I would try my Tyre Glider, which has been in my saddle bag for some time. The Tyre Glider allowed me to slide the balance of the tire into the rim with very little effort. No tire levers! Also, it appears that it would be very difficult to pinch a tube with the Tyre Glider. I saw a youtube video in which the author said the Tyre Glider would be good for mountain bike tires, but it was too difficult to use with road tires. I did not find that to be the case. I will likely be buying additional Tyre Gliders for my other bikes.

Where has this product been my entire cycling career?!

I've been an avid cyclist for 35+ years (including competitive years in college). I have too many bikes and even more wheelsets and have installed and removed countless tires. Despite that, I would say that I'm no "expert" in changing tires. In fact, I still dread changing tires. Even on the best days, with wide mountain bike tires, I still end up breaking out in a sweat and cursing at least a few times before the job is done.A few weeks ago, I was trying to build up the courage to replace an old, worn set of tires (25mm Schwalbes, tubed) with a new tubeless setup (Conti GP5000). It's been a while since I've run Conti's, but they certainly have a reputation for being extremely tight to install. And with my personal dislike for tire changing - I discovered the Tyre Glider. This product has been amazing. Two Conti GP5000s (28mm on a 21mm internal width rim) on without breaking a sweat. I actually enjoyed the process. I held off on writing a review -- maybe just a lucky tire/rim combo. Just finished putting on a set of Panaracer GravelKing 32mm (also tubeless) -- easier than ever. And then decided to try to my luck on spare set of 29" MTB wheels with Maxxis DHF 2.5" and Maxxis Aggressor 2.3" (tubeless).Could not recommend this product more highly.I did see a YouTube video that said there are only two REAL versions - this Rehook (blue) version is a licensed version of the original TyreGlider (red). I'm not sure the others are licensed. I'm a big believer in not purchasing clones to save a few dollars. (But that's me.)

Difficult to Use

Too small and can hurt your hand. The handle needs to be extended by another 2 inches. Concept is very good. Tested on Gatorskin tires. Was a b***h to use. Could not match the ease of use as demonstrated in the YouTube videos. A shame, cause I’m always intrigued by new gadgets. I gave it a 2.9/5.

Tyre glider

I bought one of these glider for my wife’s bike and I was so impressed that I bought one for my bike when I go for my long rides. Tyre levers may be a thing of the past pass? LOL. Will still carrier them for now

Never going back to old style tire levers

The Rehook Tyre Glider is a game-changer for on-the-road repairs. Many tires are difficult to reinstall after changing a tube, especially if it's cold outside or wet (exactly the times when you don't want to be spending 20 minutes on the side of the road in the weather). With the Tyre Glider, reinstalling the tire takes like 10 seconds. It's reliable even with cold fingers and a tough tire. You can push with the palm of your hand, so it's much easier to get leverage using your arms. Compared to traditional tire levers, for the few extra dollars this product costs it's a steal.

Useless to me

It seemed like a good idea. Only carry one, simple to use tool. I’m sad that I wasted $16 worth of my life working for the money to buy this. Maybe it’s better for road bikes, but for my mountain bike it is worthless. I couldn’t even get the edge under the bead. Luckily I had my levers nearby. Once I got part of the bead over the rim I tried to use it “as a handle” like the video shows - to slide around and pull the rest of the bead off the rim…. NopeI didn’t even try to use it to put the tire back on, because I don’t need tools for that. Just pull it over the rim by hand. I won’t even resell this at half price because I don’t want a negative review:/
