Excellent!!!
Where the actual product is concerned, it is just very finely made. The cover images are beautiful as well as the panel art and the image on the inside depicting L and Kira. Across the top of the pages, there's a countdown of how many days L has left to live. My friends find it morbid, but it really is just an excellent touch. There is a ribbon-bookmark too, something I always find useful. Most incredible/geeky part? It's written by "M". Mello. Just like how the Los Angeles BB Murder Cases was narrated by him. Just YES.The story is good too. It improved on the couple of things that bothered me in the movie. There is hilarity from seeing a more human side of L - other reviewers say it is out of character, but I could imagine him doing all things told in the novel. The only thing I would change would be how the doctor died as it was less dramatic than it was in the movie. And yes...they actually brought in the REAL Near!! :DOverall? Cool story, amazing product.

Great gift for my daughter
I bought this for my daughter because as most kids they are obsessed with death note. She freaked out she absolutely loves it. The quality of the book is awesome, as well as the graphic art or drawings in it really make it a superb book. After getting my daughter this book she actually started talking to me again. Perfect gift for any child or teenager that likes death note.

This is my Favorite book now
I absolutely love Death Note. It is my favorite anime, and L is my favorite character. This book delved into L's human side more, and really showed us his thoughts and feelings, allowing readers to understand him and his personality more. He is the L we all love and remember. Sugar with a splash of coffee, and just as eccentric and amusing as in the manga/anime. I have nothing bad to say about this book. It was awesome all the way through.

If U liked LABB, this ine is better
My book came waaay sooner than when it was expected to arrive! I read through it like candy while it is just Author Sanctioned Fan Fiction, it's a beautiful read. L is so kind, y'all. He was so kind and caring and will always be one of my favourite characters. Do give this one a go. I feel it is much better written than the LABB book. A lot less plot holes.

All around good time
The book is a great read, it lagged a few times but that's only because I tend to space out when reading villain scenes because they're mostly gloating or something meaningless, but in this book it only happened because it got too descriptive, do you know what I mean? So that and only that is the reason for it not being 5 stars. As for the sexuality it's simply flirting, not sexual content for what it is- for anyone curious about what their kids are up to with all these crazy books you don't understand. The book itself is about L doing one last job as THE Greatest Detective, and it's fun and weird and sad. I really like how aftermath everyone from the anime and mangas were spoken about. Misa included, because this is based on the movie ending with L alive and Light deceased. He chooses to take his own life by writing his name in the death note, I imagine because he's grief-stricken. That or he beat Rem to killing him right off, so he added the extra part about 23 days since the deaths can be altered. Anyway, it's got action, realism- you can tell the author did his/her research, it's got sweetness and great humor. It's a fun read even if you aren't familiar with Death Note, but are becoming a fan.

An interesting alternate reality
Without getting too far into spoiler territory, the book explores a different version of reality in which L does not die. The story is good, and gives some backstory to L that was not included in the anime.
