Bought as a comfort for my mum who had a stroke and has dementia.Read the existing reviews before purchase and a common thread seemed to be about that it was hard and a bit noisy. Well I can confirm it is made of hard plastic but the fur is soft. It does make a very slight noise but more like a soft purr, so not annoying. My mum is bedridden so I laid it on her tummy and she touched it and then kept her hand on its head. The 'breathing' is very life-like. It has a cute little collar and tag round its neck and bed and adoption paper.Very happy with this purchase.

I got this present for a gift for a friend and we are both extremely pleased with it. The actual box it comes in is great and is in the shape of a pet carrier which is a nice touch, the dog itself is very soft and life-like and when you see the chest rising and falling when it breathes at first glance you could mistake it for real :). There is no switch to turn the dog off once the batteries are in but I find this a good idea is it looks realistic at all times and the instructions state that the batteries will last for 3 months so that's good. Overall a lovely item and very pleased with my purchase x

I bought it for my mother, who loves animals. She has dementia, and wondered if it was real, but wasn't freaked out that it wasn't. We'd forgotten about the breathing feature, which added a little realism once we'd discovered it, although it makes a quiet little noise that kept me awake so I had to put it in another room at night - no off switch. It's cute, but kind of solid and hard, so not really cuddly. I bought a cat one too, because this one was a success.

Bought it as a present for a freind who had had to pass on her real dog because of her ill health. She and her visitors are delighted with it. No barking it lies quietly by the fire side and the breathing action, shape and colouring are very realistic. It could be a little larger in size but if you imagine a small puppy version it is very close to the real animal.

Vet suggested a toy or something as company as he was off food. Saw this dog and saw it had breathing it's puppy size but once it battery was activated it Our dog went straight to it sniffed it and snuggled in his basket and went to sleep. It makes a quite dog nreathing noise, made of very soft fur. Is rather expensive for size of dog but Definitely good purchase and worth it if it helps him get over loss of his companion. 💔 doesn't have an on off switch have to replace battery when it runs out meant to last about 2 months before needing replaced. Bottom of dog flat and hard would have been nice if they had made it more like the top of dog underneath.

When I looked at why, the (half) collar is slotted into a hole in the dogs neck by a sharp piece of hard plastic and was hanging out. On the whole it’s very badly put together.To say that this looks cheap is an understatement. It’s like something from a seaside shop which had I seen in person before ordering, wouldn’t want to part with more than £10 for.The dog isn’t hard and flat underneath so cannot be cuddled.Don’t waste your money. It’s atrocious.

The description says 'New Soft Version' - but the pet is only soft on the top of the body - the rest of the body is hard so would not be suitable for cuddling, etc. It looks OK 'sleeping' on it's bed and is quite soft to stroke but if you're looking for a 'pet' that can be cuddled this isn't for you.Description says batteries not included, but they are.
