A great addition to the home.
It was on offer for a very good price.I bought it for my elderly mother it was fairly easy to set up. you will need an alexa and an amazon account and app.She finds it a nice size to use at the side of her bed snd she just has to unplug it to move it to another room when necessary. The Alexa voice is clear and the music and sound is very good.

Awful, tacky product
Awful, tacky product. Not just was it bad, it was truly offensive. Iāve never returned a product quickly enough.This is a billboard for your bedroom, showing nothing but adverts and features. All I wanted was a bedside clock. I tried to turn it off as suggested in the āHome Contentā setting which was greyed out. Spoke to customer service and said this is a known issue and are working to fix. Just the idea that Amazon could control what / what is not shown on the screen was unacceptable to me. These should be off by default and if people want to add it then let them. Whatās to say this āfeatureā that allows adverts to be turned off wonāt keep breaking in the future?Then upon a few Google searches, I realised that even if you turn those off, Amazon constantly add new āHome Contentā slides which you need to turn off. Someone described it as a āwhackamoleā. You turn one off, another appears.Whatās more is that there are āSponsoredā pages that show up, which are adverts. Google searches again told me that you canāt turn these off, unless you change your languages.Awful. Have been truly put off from buying Amazon devices again.

Could be so much better
I had the previous gen, which had its issues, but i thought they'd all be resolved in the newest gen... hmmm no! Not sure what they do in gen updates but deffo not resolving the main problems. The issues with this device are how often it temporarily freezes, how slow it operates most of the time, and the fact that it often misses the "alexa" word. For this last one i was really hopeful that the additional microphone would fix it, it didn't! Overall it's still a nice price for the device functionalities and that's why i'm giving it 3-stars. The problems aren't difficult to fix, so get on with it please....
