Came across these by chance when looking for a healthy alternative to microwave rice. I have tried several variations from the Merchant Gourmet range, but these are by far my favourite. They complement many dishes perfectly, from grilled chicken breasts to sauced based dishes, such as curries or meatballs. The flavour is fairly mild, so not something I would eat on its own, and the texture is lovely and crunchy, therefore adding a lot of interest to meals. Easy to heat. Although, I'm not sure a bag is sufficient for two people! I would happily eat these every day.

Quick convenient and tasty😋

These are new to me as our local shops are not very experimental, but Merchant Gourmet rarely disappoint. The spiciness is subdued and personally I will add more favouring but I realise that producers have to be careful. The grains themselves are well cooked and warm up well

Handy having some of these in the store cabinet to use as quick and healthy accompaniments to a range of meats and fish. Certainly flavoursome but can be spiced up easily according to your own taste. Very versatile: can be used as a cold side for salads and as a stuffing for large fish and poultry.

With a new ability to cook and plenty of time to enjoy my own cooking, I tried this great mixture of grains, lentils and sultanas with aromatic spice and no chili. The packet cooks quickly in the microwave, and I add a little olive oil to serve. Sometimes it's all I have for my evening meal, and I'm still plenty satisified. I highly recommend this dish, but please don't buy too much of it. I want to buy more!

Very bland meal accompaniment, which does mean it will go with anything including delicate fish and chicken dishes. It can be spiced up with pepper and salt. We added a little garlic salt and black pepper and that livenedit right up. The texture is really nice, nutty and with a satisfying mouth feel. Very easy to use, pop it in the microwave and then shake it a bit to seperate the grains.

The texture of this product is very pleasing. They are at home in most dishes as they are not flavoured. I use a lot of them.
