Q: Is this stuff supposed to be gritty? Like an exfoliant? I thought it would be smooth. Also so thick it won’t spread without a lot of pressure

It’s never been gritty. When you first open the tube it can be very thick. I squeeze the tube to soften it up.

Q: Has anyone used this for eczema flare ups? My skin cracks, opens up, burns and itches.

I've been using this consistently since I saw them at a medical conference in 2009. This is the best topical for All of what you are asking. This is all I carry with me for all my cuts, burns, blisters, ect.
