I wish I could give more than 5 stars!
I wish I could give more than 5 stars! After a 6 week hospital stay, coming home felt great, but it was a hard transition not having the hospital bed.My bed was, of course, much more comfortable. But my injuries made it difficult to maneuver in a regular bed.Found this product by accident while looking for handles for the bathroom toilet.I’m so glad I did, bought it, my brother put it together for me, he said he was able to put it together quite easily. I have a queen size bed, he did install it with the safety straps to secure it to the opposite side of the bed frame. It fit well between the mattress and box spring and is very sturdy.I immediately felt more able to maneuver in bed, the bar also helps with sitting up and standing up.The bar alone makes this product amazing and well worth 5 stars. The addition of the storage pouch makes me wish I could give more stars. To have the close storage for a few essentials made this even better.I had my Mom sit and lay on my bed, and then use the bar to sit up and get out of bed. She was amazed at how easy it was to use and how much more comfortable she felt. (She is 83 and has arthritis in her wrists, so pushing up on the bed she said is so uncomfortable - but with the bar, she was able to avoid hyperextending her wrists).I have ordered another for my Mom already.Extremely happy with the purchase and so glad I found this item while doing s search for toilet seat rails.(Now if only I can be as lucky with those bars)Anyone with challenges moving around in bed, or with sitting up in bed, can benefit from this product.Side note: Please be sure you do have a bed with a traditional mattress and box spring though, as I’m not sure if it work with just a mattress on a platform.Addition: Both myself and my Mom now each have one on our beds, and have been using them for several months. I still use mine since it’s taking quite awhile for my leg & ankle to heal.My Mom has said it has made such a huge difference for her in regards to getting in and out of bed, as well as turning over onto her side. One of my best Amazon finds to date!

Very Useful, Highly Recommend!!
This wonderful product became a part of my life a few months ago after surgery. I ordered it and left the box in the bedroom. I had my surgery, came home and hubby had it thoroughly attached to the side of my bed with the strap that comes with it. Now, I have an adjustable bed (not trying to brag mind you, just trying to paint a clear picture) so I wasn't 100% sure if I would need this item. I mean, after all, I could just push the button, have the head of the bed go all the way up and then just zip right out of bed, right? Ha ha, wrong! I had back surgery and even with the bed in the full upright position, I could not even get near the edge of the bed without holding on to the assist bar and slowly turning myself sideways. My muscles were just too weak and spasming like crazy at first. All I can say is thank goodness I went ahead and got this!!So obviously I definitely needed it to get out of bed, but I also needed to hold onto it while lowering myself down onto the bed. Then I had to use it every time I needed to switch positions in bed. This bar saved me a lot of extra pain and aggravation and allowed me to have some amount of independent mobility when I would have had little to none. That in itself was the main reason for the purchase and is its greatest feature. However, that's not all!Oh no, my friends. This baby has a nice deep pocket on the inside where you can keep your little silver bell that's meant to keep your family at your beck and call (they all pretended they didn't hear it), and your cell phone (so you can call & text them when they ignore the bell, plus everything else you need your phone for of course), and your remotes, maybe some reading glasses and a magazine or small book, and even the odd piece of chocolate if you're into that type of thing, I don't like to judge. But yeah, it holds more than it looks like it does! Also worth noting (and again, I'm not rubbing it in) is that if you have an adjustable bed like I do, or you are renting a hospital bed during a recovery period, you may worry that this won't stay in place because the mattress will be moving. We thought the same thing (after it was already on luckily, or we may have decided against using it). I'm not sure if it actually moves any or not because I was always in the bed when I was adjusting it and therefore could not see the assist bar from the outside, but It was always 100% stable and secure. If it did move ever so slightly it did not affect the way it works or is used at all. This is a very useful item. I kept it on my bed for two and half months after my surgery and only just had it taken off a couple of weeks ago. We are keeping it because we know how much it will be needed should any of us have a similar surgery in the future. I highly recommend it!

Don't wait till you're elderly. Get one now.
Anybody can have a bad back at any time. This allows a person to sit up and get up unaided, without putting a helper's back at risk. I had major abdominal surgery and am not supposed to lift more than 2 pounds. Getting up requires a rather specific maneuver, but pain is a great teacher. This makes it easy and possible. Get this for any adult and don't listen to the item name saying it's for the elderly. It's for anyone, just like a bidet is useful for anyone. It also has a pocket which is great for remote, cell phone, and speaker/light. Not the bidet, the bed rail! lol.

Good design works well for its intended purpose
I attached this device to a double bed to make it easier for my wife to get out of bed. It works well for that purpose. It was easy to assemble and seems sturdy enough. It gets lateral support from a strap that fits between the mattress and box springs. This strap is cinched tight using a plastic buckle. This plastic (probably nylon) buckle is a problem. Mine broke when adjusting to take slack out of the strap. Plastic is a poor choice for this application. It probably broke at 30 lbs of tension. The nylon strap was barely tight. I am using the strap. It now has a cinch knot that is affixed with two half hitches. I will probably never get it loose to remove, but it works for now until I need to cut it off. I will eventually replace it with a non-stretch polypropylene strap that has a steel cam lock buckle.

Works well
It was a little difficult to put together at first but once I figured it out and got it on the bed it was fine. I purchased it for my dad to help him get in and out of bed.

Bedside assist grab bar for older or disabled people.
This is one serious piece of kit! It is simple to assemble and is ruggedly built. It is adjustable for any height above the floor as well as how high the grab-bar is above the mattress. Highly recommended

Buen precio, buena calidad! Lo recomiendo!
