I bought this to go along with my new can opener that opens the seals along the top outside edge rather than cutting a circle in the top. My son likes tuna, so I needed a good way to drain the cans without using the cut lid. This is perfect. It's strong and easy to use. I saw one complaint that it doesn't fit in the tuna can: if you use the pop-top on the tuna can, this won't fit because the can has the inner circle from the top. I just use the side-seal can opener and ignore the pop-top and it fits just fine. This strainer is also perfect for draining beans and other canned vegetables.

Resourceful little product, especially when using a side cutting can opener. Replaced a plastic one that I had many years ago that finally broke. The metal is sturdy enough to resist being bent in normal usage. Easy enough to clean, just wipe it out and put it in the dishwasher.

This strainer will fit inside the can. I think those of US (me included) were using it wrong. Hence all the negative reviews. Place the bottom of the strainer inside the can and press! It actually works GREAT!

I use it on tuna and the blueberries in Betty Crocker blueberry muffins and it doesn’t spill over

My whole life, I was taught to drain tuna cans by making a fist and squelching the water out of the can by pressing my fist against the lid, into the tuna. Getting my knuckles cut up from the sharp edges of the can was normal and expected. I learned how to avoid making the tuna juice squirt all over the kitchen, like a professional poor person.It took me 20+ years to buy a tool designed to drain your canned goods WITHOUT cutting your knuckles! Go figure!Where was this all my childhood and into my adulthood?.....Why didn't I look for and buy this sooner?.....I'm not so poor that I can't have bought this sooner. This has made opening tuna so much less obnoxious! Thank you to whichever person invented this.And yes, I do get this excited when I discover things that make my life even a tiny tad bit easier. I'm buying one for each of my siblings. And packing one into my kids' kitchen stuff whenever they move out.

I’ve used it to strain canned tuna and it works great.

Gets all the water out of a can of tuna without spilling it and without losing any Tuna. Also works great on canned veg, mushrooms, etc.

The drainer is a bit too big for the ring tab, I find I have to use the can opener.Other than that, it works perfectly.I'm eating a lot more tuna than I used to because it tastes a lot nicer when it's not soggy.

This is far better than I expected. It’s a really heavy duty metal strainer that perfectly fits inside tuna and other cans - enabling me to drain out excess water very easily.Highly recommended.

It's larger than one I used previously. Won't fit in a tuna can if your can opener leaves even the slightest lip. Won't work on cans that have a pull tab to open. Otherwise it's great for straining tuna cans.

As tins seem to get thinner and thinner, this gadget is great to rinse and drain tuna in the can. It goes right in the dishwasher, doesn’t tarnish or hold water in weird grooves.
