Good performance and great build quality.
Definitely fast, I love the dual channel isolation. It is easy to eject one without losing the other. The only issue I have had is that the drives are a little loose in the holder. The connector is taller than needed and the drive balances on the connector. This can cause bounce and vibration. I added small silicone dots from Amazon. Clear 6mm diam about 1-2mm tall. Put them on the corners of the drive. This cushions the drive in the bay and keeps it from swaying. Wish they would just put a bumper pad in the bay, but this works well.

Works well
I replaced a many year old one of these because one slot died. I use it to save backups of both SSDs and Hard drives. It’s easy to use and pretty quick. It will work on 2 slots at the same time. Came with a usb-c cable.

Great Drive Dock! Read the "Getting Started" insert before using.
This dock may seem a little fiddly compared to others, but I'm sure it's for all the right reasons.Since we're dealing with extremely delicate bare drives we need to be cautious not only in handling but in powering up, mounting, dismounting, and powering down. Stuff happens! This isn't a simple "drop 'em in" dock, the dual power buttons are there to use. Make sure power is off in slot, insert drive, power on appropriate slot. This will prevent possible connect/disconnect issues when inserting if the drive isn't inserted perfectly. 3 second long-press required when powering down will prevent accidentally powering down a drive. It's a thoughtful approach and helps keep ME thoughtful while handling these precious discs.Yes, it's more expensive than others, but I'm hoping this will be the last HDD dock I need to buy so "buy once, cry once", as they say.Running it with an M2 Mac Mini connected to Thunderbolt port. Speeds are all over the place due to the age of the drives I've been working with. Will update review when I eventually get an SSD in there.Regarding the "read the Getting Started insert" in title: This dock has behaviors that you need to know about when using, specifically how the 3 power switches work.

Worked great. A bit pricey compared to others but OWC is a great brand.

Works on my Synology NAS
I've been wanting to implement an offline backup rotation of my NAS data for a while. I was looking for a clean USB Drive solution where I could easily plug in a drive, have the backup run, and then store it back away when done. Most USB drive adapters can do this no problem, but I did want something a little more robust, cleaner looking, with modern USB connections. This OWC Dual Drive bay device fit the bill perfectly. To the point of cleaner looking, I have a personal aversion to power bricks; I rather the device be larger and use a conventional power cable than have to keep track of power brick with a quasi-proprietary connector. If this is "a thing" for you, in early 2022 this device is the only option available that I could find to meet those requirements. This ticks a lot of boxes, but also is possibly the most expensive option at just under $100. So far so good, it's working great for me so far, but will update this review later if anything changes.Side note, it may be my monitor, but on the Amazon product screens the device looks white in color, in reality it's a sparkly metallic gray. I experienced the same color differences with Unifi network devices.TL:DRPros:+no external power adapter, simple power cord+USB-C+works on my Synology NAS using the USB Copy app. Also worked perfect on my Windows 10 PC.+materials: metal and build quality seem solid+clean lookingCons:-kind of pricey

Great product, bad packaging causing missing cables.
I ordered this product despite the “frequently returned item” status. The first order was delayed, arriving a day later where clearly the original packaging had failed during delivery. There was an address label on the actual product box but it has been added to a standard Amazon grey bag. There were missing cables so I instigated a return. The replacement arrived in the original box but again with a lack of cables! I was going to return this one too but decided to keep it as I sourced my own power and usb-c cable. I needed the product!OWC, you must know there’s an issue due to so many returns. Fix your poor packaging which I caused by the base being held by cardboard folds and poor glue on the sides. Add some tape to the base and change your glue!

Supports Drives with PWDIS Feature
I can confirm that this dock does support drives that have the PWDIS feature. No need for adapters, tape, or cutting traces. They just work.
