First of all was an easy install but on start up my motor ran like crap. Smoking & missing. I was replacing the choke because it was leaking. Didn’t buy the repair kit, that was $10, due to the reviews saying they leaked & my old part was 33 years old. So I ordered the $54 replacement. My mistake was thinking it was something else due to the boat hadn’t been run all winter because I put a new clear coat on the boat. My mistake, after 2 days of trying everything from draining the old fuel & putting in fresh. Fouling 3 sets of plugs & checking the carbs for trash, I finally came to the conclusion it might be the NEW choke. So I blocked off the fuel line going to it & after a while started running better. Engaged or disengaged it sent extra fuel to the carbs all the time. So I took my old one & the new one & made a good one. Would have sent it back but it’s Friday and grand kids coming tomorrow. I feel I should get a refund but I know that won’t happen because I took it apart. I am a retired master mechanic not just a diy guy. So I’m writing this review to say JUST BECAUSE THE PART IS NEW, DOSEN’T MAKE IT GOOD!! Would have cost me a lot of money if I hadn’t been a mechanic to have it checked out by a boat mechanic, to find out it was a bad/new part I put on.

Part was an exact match to the OEM one which costs hundreds of dollars more. Besides fitting perfectly, this part also had the exact same markings as the OEM. Worked!

Connecter on black wire was a little tight on the bolt but other than that no issues. worked like a charm!

Part is junk. Lasted 2 weeks maybe 2 trips on the water and now it's leaking gas out of the top and won't start half the time.
