Once We Figured It Out...
The kit came with everything needed to assemble - except instructions on how to assemble! Luckily, we are a pretty smart bunch of gals (both of my adult daughters and me, their Momma) so we finally figured it out, after trial and error - and in spite of one of the lens covers cracking. Here's what made our kaleidoscopes turn out so nicely:1. self-adhesive "glitter" paper (instead of using tape to "attach" the standard paper included in the kit, we used Dollar Tree's "Crafter's Square" line of vinyl paper rolls - in the cutting machine craft section)2. better-quality stickers3. a selection of colorful glass beads from my own stash. The plastic beads that came in the kit were simple & "dull" so if you choose to use your own beads, make sure they are clear, colorful, and **small**!We also needed to peel the protective film from the mirrors before taping them together in a triangular form (mirrors facing each other). If you don't tape the mirrors together they will eventually collapse onto each other and you'll wind up taping them together anyways. The plastic lens, bead cover & end cap arrive "together" so before you place your beads in the end cap, make sure you pull out the single plastic cover that goes over the beads (and which also has a protective film to be removed). Important note: if you use **large** beads the plastic cover will crack from the pressure when you place the end cap onto the tube. And, as other reviewers have mentioned, the 3 tubes are NOT the same length (so if you have "picky" kids, just know up front there may be some squabbling about "who gets which one"😊).All-in-all, we enjoyed putting these together. We made lots of great memories that will come to mind whenever we look through our 'scopes. It truly was fun to decorate them and to experiment with various bead colors, sizes, and transparency... maybe we will make this an annual Christmas tradition!

Great for preteen kids!
This kit is great! My grandchildren loved them. Rhey went together easily. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the directions are not included in the kit. I had to get a laptop and print out picture of directions.

Great Value, Fun Craft
This was a very fun and easy craft. I got this for my kids (ages 4 and 6) to complete with my sister's kids (ages 5 and 7), and they were able to put everything together with a little bit of help. There are **no instructions** so you have to look at the ones in the listing photo. Also, there are 2 different sizes of tubes, so you have to match the paper wrappers to the correct size. The wrappers and stickers aren't as nice as they look in the photos, so that was a bit of a bummer. The hardest part of the entire process is peeling the film off **both sides** of the plastic disc that holds the gems in the cup. It was nice that everything can be assembled without glue or scissors, too.For the price, it's a fantastic craft.

The outer paper is smaller then the tube, no written directions,

Peel the plastic film off!
I was hesitant to buy these because of the reviews saying the mirrors were not reflective enough. I even went out and bought chrome craft paper to wrap around them. Then when I was repositioning the paper, a plastic film peeled off with it. The mirrors are super shiny a reflective and work perfectly! There's also a film on both sides of the plastic disc that holds the beads in the end. So make sure to peel all that off first!Instructions would be helpful but they're not too hard to figure out.I will say, I ordered 3 sets and for some reason 2 are shorter than the rest? And some of the little sticker sheets are missing. But I'm leaving it at 5 stars because I think the ratings are lower than they should be because some people couldn't figure out the assembly.

Piece of Junk!
The package was incomplete. Missing: one tube cover; assembly directions: one eyepieceIf I could give this item a zero, I would! Very small aperture for viewing the kaleidoscopic "magic". Distorted color. I bought as a replacement for a similar object I bought from Amazon more than 15 years ago. I was so disappointed I am considering serving divorce papers to Amazon and finding another big box store that is vying with Amazon for the mail order market. I am tired of returning items because of poor quality or faulty descriptions. Perhaps you remember when you could count on good quality, good service and fair pricing when dealing with Amazon. I fear the profit motive has overcome all the lofty ideals of Mr. Bezos and the original Amazon leadership team.

Refer to item for instructions because they don't come with them in the item.
I used the little stickers to tape the mirrors together in a triangle facing eachother. After taking off protective film. The round cover on eye hole piece goes down to cover beads from falling out. The tube paper unroll it and place it long ways. I glues it to tube but I think u can use the tini stickers. Definitely cheap looking but my 6 yr old enjoyed. Putting it together
