Good Pedal; Good Way to Experiment with Your Guitar Sound
Good piece of gear for the price. The sound quality is good, no hum or buzz, the delay effect works well through a wide range of adjustment and it is solidly built. But, as Scotty (for you Star Trek fans) once said, "Well the equipment's guaranteed but I have my doubts about the stuff inside." That applies here; but this and the other two Joyo pedals I have work well and let let you experiment with various effects before you invest in the high end gear you really want. When you're done and ready to get your MXR, Way Huge or whatever pedal you're into, you pass the Joyo on to the kids and they are very happy. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Besides, if it doesn't work you can return it and Amazon is very good about that.

Is joyo a joy?
Ok I did it, I went cheap. I not going to answer to the durability and reliability of this delay pedal because I'm less then a month in with it. I bought this with two others the vintage phaser and pocket metal both of which I like. This delay I got it as a second delay for shorter delay times and my primary for the long spacey attack. I got to say it's pretty nice, works and functions as one should. I get mine just pass the reverby tone into 3-4 repeat slap. It's not overly noisey and simple to use. Mine stays pretty much all knobs at 11 o clock, like the true bypass, I thought the one I was getting was silver but too my surprise I got bronze, yeah! I'd like if it had dial numbers but that's cool, I feel it's warm almost analogue and pleasing to my ears. I think if it makes it for a year it's worth the 30 bucks, I do hope it lasts. So if your not snobby you'll probably be fine with it, just remember it's not a super long delay but it will get pretty crazy. Try it out joyos ok with me, it's the player that really counts! Buy it through the Amazon vendor cheaperpedals.com. They test before shipping which is nice!Product update 4/3/2016After 11 months and several gigs I find this to be a great short delay pedal. Noise to me is minimal, good piece of cheap gear! I also have a biyang delay which I think is a little bit nicer, longer delay and smaller package but this is fine.

Original and Replacement Both Defective - Beware
UPDATE FOLLOWS:Unfortunately I must downgrade this to a 1-star review. You can see my original review below. The first JF-08 I received was dead out of the box. The seller replaced it. The replacement only worked out of the box long enough for me to try it and to write a review. The next time I tried using it, it was dead like the original. When you press the switch, the light comes on but the pedal does not work. (At random, sometimes it will turn on when you press the switch, then it is dead the next time that you turn it on.) This happens with both battery power and adapter power. It's very disappointing because I do like the sound of this pedal. I've contacted the seller, and am hoping that they can do something for me. There is obviously a batch of Joyo JF-08s out there with a build defect or bad part(s). I would avoid this one.-----------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS:It says Digital Delay on the box but to my ear this is a nice analog delay, which I prefer. It does not color the sound like some delay pedals do. I can get those classic 80s U2 ehco guitar sounds, or dial it back for a very subtle delay to use as part of my default sound. It's a very versatile and warm pedal.I was tempted to give this pedal a 4-star rating but I must give it a 3 because it is not quiet and the pots do not move smoothly. It adds some ground hum when turned on, and in my case I intend to have it on all the time in my effects loop. (I'm going to try some different power adapters, power bars, outlet, maybe put the effect in front of the amp etc. to see if I can minimize the hum.)It's easy to over rate these pedals when they are only $30 or $40 but I didn't want to fall into that trap. They should work properly. They are cheap BUT the price is low because wages are low in China, there is no advertising, no packaging apart from a a sticker on a generic box, and your dealing directly with China in most cases rather than a middle-man in North America or Europe.Joyo quality control IS an issue. My first Joyo Digital Delay was dead out of the box. The vendor I dealt with was fantastic. They replaced it immediately and it arrived quicker than I expected. I also own a couple of other Joyo pedals. One works perfectly, the other also has a noise issue.Joyo are great value, but I think it is the luck of the draw as to whether you will get a dud, an OK one or perfection.

You Can't Go Wrong With Joyo!!!
This is a very good quality, nice sounding delay. You can get that classic "slapback" sound or dial you in some nice lead delays for that classic rock sound. Very simple to operate and that's what makes these Joyo pedals a "joy" to use. Nothing fancy, but simple and to the point. Another great selling point to me is that they are absolutely "true bypass". I have bought the cheaper, "plastic" pedals and they make noise. They say that they are true bypass, but they are not. These babies are dead quiet! I run mine through the effects loop on my Bugera V22 tube amp and it sounds great! I also own the Joyo Vintage OD (TubeScreamer clone) and it is great as well. Highly recommend!!!

Decent delay for a great price.
For the money spent, this pedal is nice. I will start by saying, however, that is is not a total digital delay. In a digital delay, there is no decay of notes played- it keeps repeating perfect copies of the note played. With analogue, there is more decay with each repeat (a copy of a copy of a copy, etc). Analogue delay is great and the pedal sounds good, but as a matter of technicality the title is a bit of a misnomer. The construction is solid and I have no complaints about durability. It is (as advertised) true bypass and does not color your tone. The sound is good- other than the fact that it is actually analogue it sounds good. It is reasonably versatile and can get a decent range of delay tones. Maybe not ideal for the 800MM "Edge" sounds, but it can give anything from slap-back to Floyd-esque sounds. the pedal is good on it's own, but I feel it works best stacked with other pedals on your board for extra delay, ambiance or texture. Not amazing, but a very good, usable pedal at an affordable price.
