Well Received
Off the top of my head I would say that if an eleven year old child perused a book often and hard enough to fall asleep with it over his face five nights a week for three weeks straight that the volume was well received. My grandson is infatuated with all things bright, polished, and deadly; has been for years. This book had the effect of increasing his awareness of and appreciation for metal that could do damage. Now, if we could just get him interested in school.

Terminology used in book can be misleading or wrong
Interesting info with lots of images. However, a lot of terms used in the book are misleading or flat out wrong.

Not much on knives
I bought this book because I'm a knifemaker, and I wanted to have a reference book of various historical knife styles, but this book isn't it. It should be named "Bayonets and Daggers", because that's pretty much the focus. There is very very little in the way of knife history, and what is there is brief, and it doesn't delve into technical aspects of the blades.

More a kids book
More so a kids book and less of a decent historical reference.
