I couldn’t ask for a better advanced dictionary for learners of English. This dictionary is perfect for those studying English as a second language.The example sentences are highlighted in blue. For the pronunciation IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) is used and the section about geographical names with pronunciation is so useful.This dictionary focuses on American English but it also gives the equivalent word and pronunciation of British English. You can’t go wrong when you purchase a Merriam-Webster dictionary.I give 5 stars for the dictionary but not for the shipping. The dictionary arrived damaged with dog-eared pages. Since it was supposed to be a gift I kept it and ordered a new one which also came damaged but to a lesser extent.Amazon is great but not for books. They don’t come properly packed.
