Yakry Backup System
I finally had the opportunity to install the system over the weekend. I started by bench testing the unit to make sure it worked. Then it was up the ladder. The installation instructions were easy to follow. Since my RV was prewired I only had to use the adaptor connection. The mounting bracket holes aligned with the pre-existing holes; so no making new holes in my RV. I used the screws provided with the system as they were a little longer than the original screws and I wanted to make sure that the unit would be secure.Once all the components were installed, I inserted the cigarette lighter adaptor in and hit the power button. The camera image displayed was crystal clear allowing me to view everything behind me. I went through setting up the alignment lines and some of the other features.Overall, I am very impressed with the system and look forward to utilizing it for many years to come. While I was installing it another RVer inquired about it. I told him about why I chose Yakry, the ease of installation and cost.I will keep you posted while I explore some of the other features.

Great camera, easy installation.
This backup camera was super easy to install using the pre wired mount on my new travel trailer using the provided mounting bracket with the camera. The important thing to know is that once you plug your trailer into your tow vehicle the camera WILL NOT WORK without the tow vehicle lights being turned on. This isn’t a problem because I always run my headlights while towing since my truck doesn’t have daytime running lights.Fit:Fit pre wired fixture perfectly Picture quality:Very clear Value for money:Great price point for a quality camera Adjustment capability:The included monitor has numerous adjustments Functionality:This can be used as a rear view mirror as well as a backup camera.

Yakry Wireless Backup Camera System for Camper, RV, Truck, SUV..
This Blue Tooth Camera set and a monitor are just fabulous. They are worth for the money spent to ensure for a safety road trip feature. The Camera and the Video Monitor are automatically paired after they are wired and turn ON. I am so impressed with the HD resolution, IR night vision, waterproof camera and super bright image of the video camera. The design feature, size of the camera, the monitor, the mounting brackets and hardware and a detailed Installation Instruction made it very quick and easy for installation.Camera can be always ON or turn OFF from the lit Cigarette socket switch.

Easy install
Works great. Super easy to install if your camper already has the correct bracket install. Much cheaper than the version that camper world is selling. Only complaint I had was the size and hardware for the monitor. Super clunky and hard to find a place inside the cab of your truck or it's not blocking everything else. This could really be size down a bit.

Great Addition, makes me safer every time I move my RV!
This camera and monitor is a game changer for RV’s. Mine had a spot for the camera on the back of the camper, where there was just a plate. I was able to easily remove the plate, locate the wires and hook it up. Because of the set up, my truck lights need to be on to power the wire on the camper, but that is not an issue.I decided to wait to install the camera until I was 100% comfortable backing up the rig without the camera. This just added to the safety.

I should have bought this a long time ago
Herrmagerr I should have bought this a long time ago. It worked well with power coming from the high running lights - I turn my lights on to tow. It makes pulling a trailer a lot less stressful with being able to see what is coming up behind you. The field of view is large enough to tell when a lane next to you is clear as well.

Best backup camera for large vehicles! And how does it compare to cheaper models?
The media could not be loaded. Believe it or not, this is the third iStrong product I've purchased. As we have a couple of older RVs in the family, it only made sense to try out the different models. This review is for the top of the line model with the 7" screen, but I'll also be comparing it to it's $100 little brother.Let's start with the fantastic build quality. I was happily surprised to find the camera and transmitter unit was housed in a solid metal case with a protective glass plate on front. Because the camera is larger than the "license plate" models, you'll need to think in advance about where you'll place the camera. But, the package comes with a great swivel plate for the camera and several methods for mounting the display screen in your vehicle. Ultimately, your camera will get dirty, so it's nice that there is a flat glass plate in front for easy cleaning. The monitor is also solid, although made of molded plastic - which is better for your car's interior. It is well built with a detachable antenna and a place to hold your memory card. It's not a touch screen and the menu buttons require a bit of thinking to use, but they make sense. And while I'm talking about the menu options, there are some nice features for turning off or on the guidelines, selecting between NTSC or PAL, etc. There are a few oddities such as the "delay" menu feature that the instructions say does nothing. And, remember that you can start and stop video recording by using the bottom right button. It took me a couple of minutes to play with every menu option to see what they do. But it all works great, including the recording. Oh, and it comes with a memory card pre-installed!Next, let's talk about video quality. First, it's low light capabilities are amazing. It has a large number of infrared LEDs in the back and you will have no problem in the darkest of nights seeing what's behind you. I never had a single glitch in the video feed, but if your transmitter is placed at the back of your rig, they supply you with an antenna extension that allows you to place the video transmitter antenna closer to your receiver! Nice! I, however, didn't need to use it. As for the picture quality itself, the monitor may be 800 lines resolution, but the camera transmits using a rather strong compression algorithm that gives you some artifacts you'll likely notice when you're not moving. But, in practice, I think the extra compression helps to keep the frame rate reasonable.Unlike the baby brother license plate cameras that iStrong sells, this unit has almost zero delay between turning on power and seeing the video feed. It's fantastic. With the other units, you might place your vehicle in reverse and need to wait a second or two if you're applying power based on the backup lights. With this units, you put your vehicle in reverse and go! I love this feature. There are a couple of downsides. First, the monitor is LARGE. 7 inches is massive compared to the 4.3 inch model. I think this unit would be fantastic in a vehicle with a large cab. If you have a tractor trailer or class A motorhome, I think this is the model for you! But, a large monitor can also be more difficult to place in your cab. In the end, I wedged mine in the corner of my window (see the video) and used a bit of double sided table to hold it in place rather than using the mounting solutions it came with.Another downside is that when the video feed (transmitter) is not sending a signal, the monitor's backlight does not turn off. So, if your camera is setup for coming on only when you're backing up, you will have to manually turn on or off the monitor unless you want to see a "no signal" message on your screen. At night it can be distracting. Also, the brightness of the monitor can be distracting at night if you're using it full-time rather than just when backing up. Ultimately, you can decide how to use it.I'm really happily surprised to find that iStrong has real people behind their customer support. They reply to emails quickly and are very eager to help and answer questions.A word on the contents of the package: It comes with a lot... 12v power lines, cigarette plugs, wire splicers, several mounting options and the double sided tape you might want to use. It's definitely a full kit.In summary, this "big brother" model certainly has a more solid signal than the cheaper models and feels like it's built to last. If you have room in your cab and a place to mount the rear camera, then this is the very best option for large vehicles! If you have a smaller vehicle without much dash space, you might want to consider the smaller units. I'll probably install this unit on our Class C and the $100 model on my Class B.
