Great pre-filter, fits well for the Fluval and Marineland canister filters intake.

I recently got a penguin pro 125 for a 20 gallon tank, and this foam filter can work as a pre filter for the penguin pro, It will allow the filter cartridge to last longer as the pre filter will catch any of the waste floating in the tank and getting sucked by the filter.Overtime they will clog up which would reduce the flow of the filter, But they are easy to clean and reusable.I highly recommend this for the Marineland filters as it will make the filter cartridges last longer, and you don't have to replace those cartridges often when using a pre filter.

I bought this because I keep nano fish and shrimp. It keeps small guys from being sucked up and sometimes they even graze on the leaves and stuff that it picks up. Also keeps your filter from sucking in dead leaves from my plants.

It’s fits the filter but I think it’s human error on my part lol I’m not sure if I installed them correctly or not. I removed the old intake (shaped kind of triangular) but I’m not sure if I needed another intake tube since I just put it on the open tube left behind instead of a different plastic insert. I haven’t started running it yet so time will tell once I start up the filter and see if it actually works or not.
